Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Teachers

Earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through UC Davis Extension by participating in the Computers and Writing 2009 Conference in Davis June 18-21. Participants must verify participation in at least 10 hours (1.0 CEU) or 20 hours (2.0 CEUs) of conference sessions and complete a required 3-5 page reflective paper after the conference. The cost is $100 for 1 CEU or $140 for 2.0 CEUs. Registration forms will be available on the Computers and Writing 2009 Conference Web site and at the conference.

All conference sessions are connected to the conference's focus on composition and technology. Sessions will cover topics of interest to primary, secondary, and tertiary level writing and language arts instructors, including accounts of how teachers and students, workers and writers use computers and other technologies in their lives at school, at work and at play. Depending on their professional and personal interest, participants may choose to attend most sessions focusing on one level or may opt to attend a broad spectrum of sessions.

CEUs are a nationally recognized means of recording noncredit study.  Participants seeking to apply CEU coursework to advance on a salary schedule should check with their employer of record to determine that CEUs will be accepted. If you complete the course requirements, you may request a transcript from UC Davis Extension Student Services.
